Cruise Cars in West Campus. The future of transportation, or congesting causing fad?

I had the opportunity to work with freshman PrimeTime Reporter Nicole Vargas covering the recent disruptions caused by software malfunctions with Cruise’s self-driving cars, as well as the promise of autonomous taxis to make transportation more accessible and less wasteful. I worked as Vargas’ videographer helping to capture interviews and b-roll, and I advised and assisted her in piecing this story together. It was a great opportunity to collaborate on a story with another talented student journalist. In the week since the publication of our story, Cruise has announced it will be suspending it’s autonomous taxi service after one of their vehicles struck a pedestrian in San Francisco.
