This past semester at the University of Texas I took my first serious television reporting course. We reported real stories from across campus for a student newscast – Reporting Texas TV.

I could not have imagined a better place to have spent the summer. This was an incredible first entrée into television news.

I had the opportunity to work with freshman PrimeTime Reporter Nicole Vargas covering the recent disruptions caused by software malfunctions with Cruise’s self-driving cars, as well as the promise of autonomous taxis to make transportation more accessible and less wasteful.

This past week I had the opportunity to break a story for Texas News PrimeTime on a new policy adopted by 13 of the university’s club sports to require proof of birth sex to join in an effort to comply with new state law and changing guidelines from national sport clubs.

I’m excited to announce that this fall I will be taking over as Executive Producer of Texas News PrimeTime, the flagship evening newscast from Texas Student Television at The University of Texas at Austin.
